Abstract:
Fourier extension type operators are the dual forms of Fourier restriction type operators. Under the assumption of boundedness, we study the extremal functions for these operators. In particular, I will introduce some recent results on the existence of L^p extremals and L^2 extremals in different situations. The proofs mainly rely on some concentration-compactness (profile decomposition) arguments. This talk is based on a series of joint works with Chenjie Fan, Ryan Frier, Ning Liu and Dunyan Yan.
